The call for proposals in the special H2020 call of the European Green Deal has been launched! There are 20 new calls for proposals in 11 areas with a total budget of € 1 billion! The Green Deal Call (GDC) offers funding for research projects on the climate crisis and the preservation of unique ecosystems and biodiversity in Europe. The European Commission expects that the projects will lead to innovative solutions bringing concrete results for citizens. Below you will find the most important information, including a brief description of the call, as well as links to particular call topics. To support you in finding partners for project consortia we also provide you with the information on virtual brokerage events and examples of potential partners’ expression of interests.
EUROPEAN GREEN DEAL CALL – CALL DESCRIPTION
The aim of the Green Deal Call (GDC) is to support a just and sustainable societal transformation through research and innovation. Hence, the GDC will financially support pilots, demonstration projects, innovative products, as well as innovation for better management of green and digital transformation, social innovations and innovative value chains. The selected projects are expected to bring tangible and visible results, and will show relatively quickly how research and innovation can provide practical solutions to the main priorities of the European Green Deal. Furthermore, in addition to technological development and demonstration projects, the GDC encourages the development of new ways to engage civil society and empower citizens.
In a nutshell, the GDC includes:
- eight thematic areas reflecting the main directions of work under the European Green Deal;
- three horizontal areas (knowledge strengthening, citizens empowerment and international cooperation) that will cover all eight thematic areas and will offer a long-term perspective to achieve the changes set out in the European Green Deal strategy.
Timeline:
- Opening of the call for proposals: 22nd September 2020
- Closing of the call for applications: 26th January 2021 (5 pm.)

You are also invited to use the Partner Search Tool prepared by NCPs CARE network. This tool covers all thematic areas of the Green Deal Call and allow you to present your expertise as a partner or consortium.
We also encourage you to present your offer in the form of expression of interest (EoI) and post it in the partner search tool on the EC Funding & tender opportunities platform.
