SUMMARY:Horizon Europe Navigators MeetUp: Strengthening the chances of success in Horizon Europe
DESCRIPTION:The PolSCA Office invites representatives of the local community of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Poznań to a meeting to discuss activities supporting the units of the Polish Academy of Sciences and an expert meeting on issues related to Horizon Europe\, as well as to present the activities of the office. Registration for the meeting is by invitation.  \n\n\n\nThe agenda of the day includes a working meeting with members of the Horizon Europe Navigators Network representing Institutes based in Wielkopolska.  \n\n\n\nA dedicated meeting for the management of the Institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences has been planned\, during which the tools and areas of support of the PolSCA Office for the Institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences will be presented\, the possibilities of influencing the research agenda and increasing participation in Horizon Europe\, as well as a discussion on the needs of units in the field of support and cooperation opportunities.  \n\n\n\nThe next part of MeetUp will be devoted to a meeting with researchers and project managers of the Institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences\, during which the possibilities of support for applicants for Horizon Europe and a working discussion on the needs of units in the field of support and cooperation opportunities will be presented. Later\, participants will be able to take part in parallel sessions regarding possibilities of participating in the competitions of the Work Program 2023-24 of Horizon Europe\, conducted by Experts of the National Contact Point of the National Center for Research and Development:  \n\n\n\nCluster 1. Health \n\n\n\nCluster 6. Food\, bioeconomy\, natural resources\, agriculture and the environment.\n\n\n\nThe MeetUp will close with a session dedicated to the strategic approach to Horizon Europe and ways to achieve grant success\, which will be conducted by Experts of the Horizontal Contact Point for Western Poland. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAfter the end of the MeetUp\, there will be a dedicated meeting for members of the working team on simplification in Horizon Europe operating within the HE Navigators network on the evaluation of the framework program and consultation of the strategic plan. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn 2021\, the PolSCA Office – in synergy with the PASIFIC program – initiated a network of science managers as part of the Polish Academy of Sciences\, the so-called Horizon Europe Navigators. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIdentified among the employees of the Institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences\, HE Navigators support the effective transfer of information in the scientific environment of their Institutes and the effective distribution of the training offer of the PolSCA Office and partners. The common goal of the PolSCA Office and the HE Navigators Network is to deepen knowledge and exchange good practices\, and consequently – to increase the participation of the Institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences in the Horizon Europe framework programme. Currently\, 62 institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences and several auxiliary units of the Polish Academy of Sciences are involved in the network.  \n\n\n\nIn 2022\, the PolSCA Office organized a number of dedicated meetings – in online format – for members of the network\, the so-called “HE Navigators MeetUps” and several meetings as part of the series “PolSCA webinars on Horizon Europe” open to the environment of academics and research managers at the Academy. All these events were online meetings.v

SUMMARY:Conference: Scientific excellence has no gender [Poznań]
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to the conference “Scientific excellence has no gender”\, addressed to the authorities of scientific and research units\, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science\, institutions financing science in Poland and organizations promoting science and research in Poland. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe aim of the conference is to draw attention to the problem of inequality between women and men in various aspects of science\, including the problems of young parents (mainly women) or people taking care of dependent persons practicing science. The conference is an event inaugurating a long-term AMU program under the same slogan\, the aim of which will be to counteract gender inequality in Polish science. \n\n\n\nThe conference agenda and details of the event can be found on the conference website  \n\n\n\nThe program includes:  \n\n\n\nPolish science in the aspect of equal treatment of women and men – presentation of the reports of the National Science Center\, the results of the GENDERACTION project\, the L’Oréal For Women and Science program – L’Oréal report Examples of promotional campaigns fighting hidden prejudices and inequalities between women and men in science – Belgium Young Academy campaign Wetenschap=M+V+X\, Perspektywy Women in Tech\, University Center for Research on Women’s Participation in Public Space UAM Gender equality perspective – challenges for institutions and research teams – experience of the Adam Mickiewicz University Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań\, the National Science Centre\, the Foundation for Polish Science\, the National Contact Point of the National Center for Research and Development and the PolSCA Office of the Polish Academy of Sciences A moderated discussion on the situation of women and men in Polish science\n\n\n\nThe conference inaugurates a long-term program initiated by the Academy of Young Scholars of the Polish Academy of Sciences\, which aims to identify the main factors leading to gender disproportions and to develop solutions that will allow to eliminate them in a transparent and effective way.  \n\n\n\nThe issues raised at the conference touch on the need to introduce real solutions that can be implemented both systemically and at the level of individual scientific and research units\, and which will support both scientific excellence and improvement of the working conditions of the community.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe conference will take place on February 10\, 2023 at the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism of the Adam Mickiewicz University Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań\, at ul.
