SUMMARY:Outstanding Research Careers conference
DESCRIPTION:The conference on Outstanding Research Careers will take place on Tuesday\, 28 November 2023 in the premises of the Nordic House in Brussels. \n\n\n\nThis event will be hosted by V4 Research & Innovation in Brussels with the participation of the Young European Universities Network (YERUN). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are planning a half-day of engaging talks with interesting speakers representing both the European Commission and the community of talented early stage and mid-career researchers. \n\n\n\nOur invited researchers will present their research careers and analyse the challenges of today’s research landscape. They will address issues related to mobility\, career development\, skills and employment. Their experiences are highly relevant to current policies on research careers in Europe both at the national and EU levels. \n\n\n\nPolSCA PAS Office in Brussels\, as a co-organiser of the event\, has invited Prof. Piotr Wcisło of the Nicolaus Copernicus University of Toruń to represent Polish perspective during the event. \n\n\n\nWe aim to answer questions about how to facilitate the careers of all researchers\, and how the challenges researchers in our regions are facing differ from those already well known in the field. \n\n\n\nThe event will be followed by a networking lunch. \n\n\n\nYou can register until 24 November 2023: \n\n\n\nEvent Registration \n\n\n\nRegistration for online streaming \n\n\n\nFull programme \n\n\n\n***** \n\n\n\nPROGRAMME \n\n\n\n09.00 Arrival and coffee09.15 Welcome by the organisers \n\n\n\n09.20 Keynote presentation by Dario Capezzuto\, DG RTD\, European Commission \n\n\n\n9.40 Journeys of Discovery: Researchers’ Career Pathway SnapshotsRound of short presentations11.00 21st-Century Research Landscape: (Overcoming) Mobility\, Career\, Skills\, and Employment Challengesfor Early and Mid-Career Researchers in the EUPanel discussion moderated by Silvia Gómez Recio\, Secretary General at YERUNFeatured speakers:Johana Kotišová · Postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Social Sciencesand Solvay Business School\, Vrije Universiteit BrusselPiotr Wcisło · Professor at the Faculty of Physics\, Astronomy and Informatics\,Nicolaus Copernicus University of TorunSofia Karina Trommlerová · Postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of NaturalSciences\, Comenius University in BratislavaSándor Laki · Assistant professor at Faculty of Informatics\, Eötvös LorándUniversity \n\n\n\n*****V4 Research & Innovation in Brussels stands for a long-term cooperation between four R&I liaison offices based in Brussels\, namely:Slovak Liaison Office for Research and Development (SLORD)Czech Liaison Office for Education and Research (CZELO)Polish Science Contact Agency of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PolSCA)National Research\, Development and Innovation Office of Hungary (NRDIO)
