Recently, the spring edition of \u201cV4 Training\u201d has been\nconcluded \u2013 training for managers of European research projects organized by\nthe Polish Science Contact Agency, Slovak Liaison Office for Research and\nDevelopment (SLORD), Czech Liaison Office for R&D (CZELO) and Permanent\nRepresentation of Hungary to the EU.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training took place on 27-29 March<\/strong>, and its participants were employees of universities and research\ninstitutes not only from the Visegrad Group countries, but also from Slovenia,\nRomania, Lithuania and Cyprus. This year, we received over 40 applications from\nPoland, out of which we selected 7 Polish participants of the “V4\nTraining”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

During the\nthree-day workshop we hosted speakers representing various European research\n& innovation institutions. The participants had the opportunity to discuss\nmatters related to the Horizon 2020 framework programme, as well as those\nregarding the forthcoming Horizon Europe. In addition, the agenda included the\nissues of conducting effective scientific communication, implementing best\nadministrative practices as well as networking in the research environment. Some\nsessions were devoted directly to particular funding instruments such as\n\u2018widening\u2019 tools (including teaming, twinning, ERA-Chair), Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie\nActions, COST, and HR Excellence in Research Award. What is more, the most\ncurrent issues were brought up like Brexit or methods of rewarding researchers\nin EU grants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this edition of training, two\ninteractive sessions were conducted. The first one encompassed short\npresentation of each participant and it was moderated by Magdalena Kula, a\ncommunication specialist, currently working in the European Parliament. The\nsecond group covered the work in groups in which the participants discussed\nspecific case studies, sharing their own experiences, describing the biggest\nchallenges and developing common solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is worth\nnoting that the third day of the training was held in the Permanent\nRepresentation of the Republic of Poland to the EU. The participants of the\nevent were welcomed by the head of the institution, Ambassador Andrzej Sado\u015b,\nand the host of that day was the Polish Science Contact Agency of the Polish\nAcademy of Sciences in Brussels.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the invited speakers were: Jaros\u0142aw\nWalig\u00f3ra, representative of the Directorate of Health of the European\nCommission, Jakob Just Madsen, scientific attach\u00e9 from the Danish EU Research\nLiaison Office (DANRO), Giuseppina Lauritano from the Department of Research\nand Innovation of the European Commission or Mathea Fammels, director of the\nEuropean Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
