In 2019, regular working meetings for representatives of Polish regional offices in Brussels were continued. Through this platform for the exchange of information and experience (with external guests as well), PolSCA strives to support the development of knowledge about research and innovation among our Polish partners at the regional level. The main emphasis during these monthly meetings was put on elements related to the preparation of the next framework program – Horizon Europe (HEU).<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

In total, 10 meetings were held in 2019, during which we discussed following issues:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 fight against disinformation and fake news<\/strong>: the guest of the meeting was Robert So\u0142tyk<\/strong>, Directorate-General for Social Communication – DG COMM,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Brexit and its potential consequences<\/strong>: the invited speaker was B\u0142a\u017cej Thomas<\/strong>, UK Research Office,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 introduction to Horizon Europe<\/strong> given by Tomasz Poprawka<\/strong>, PolSCA,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 summary of the negotiation process of the HEU<\/strong>: our guest was Agata Janaszczy<\/strong>k from the Polish Permanent Representation to the EU,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 HEU strategic plan<\/strong> discussed by the PolSCA Team<\/strong>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 the importance and role of liaison offices in Brussels<\/strong> – the example of Slovenia: the speaker was Maja Ferlinc<\/strong>, Slovenian Business & Research Association,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 the new European Commission and its priorities<\/strong>: the invited expert was Marzena Guz-Vetter<\/strong>, Directorate-General for Communication – DG COMM,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 cross-linking\/ networking tools in the framework program – on the example of the MSCA RISE<\/strong>: our speaker was Aleksandra Schoetz-Sobczak<\/strong> from Executive Research Agency (REA),<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 cross-linking tools in the framework program – on the example of the COST <\/strong>instrument: the guest of the meeting was Katalin Alfoldi<\/strong>, European Corporation in Science and Technology (COST),<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 synergies<\/strong> between Horizon Europe and the Structural Funds: the invited speaker was Magda de Carli<\/strong>, Directorate General for Research and Innovation – DG RTD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
