Communication, dissemination, and exploitation activities are an integral part of Horizon Europe projects to maximise the impacts of the EU research & innovation funding, deriving from the Implementation Strategy for Horizon Europe<\/strong><\/a> and principles of the European Research Area (ERA) that aims to create a single, borderless market for research, innovation and technology across the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCommunication<\/strong> measures should promote the project throughout the full lifespan of the project. The aim is to inform and reach out to society and show the activities performed, and the use and the benefits the project <\/strong>will have for citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dissemination<\/strong> is the public disclosure of the results by appropriate means<\/strong>, other than resulting from protecting or exploiting the results, including by scientific publications in any medium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exploitation<\/strong> is the use of results <\/strong>in further research and innovation activities other than those covered by the action concerned, including among other things, commercial exploitation such as developing, creating, manufacturing, and marketing a product or process, creating, and providing a service, or in standardisation activities\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project applications<\/strong> in Horizon Europe must contain an outline<\/strong> for dissemination and exploitation of the results, which should be developed into a comprehensive plan during the first six months of the project<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To support project consortia in dissemination and exploitation of the results, the European Commission has developed a few online tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Horizon Results Booster is the initiative by the European Commission which aims to maximise the impact of research projects funded by the framework progrmmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
