This third edition of EMERGE-EU builds on the pilot study visits dedicated to advanced materials and AI in healthcare organised in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-29f4969149c45a1240c4114616de56b0\"><strong>About the study visit<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">EMERGE-EU Biodiversity aims to support researchers who are developing their scientific independence and seeking to increase their participation in European research and innovation activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through meetings with European institutions, funding agencies and fellow researchers, participants will have the opportunity to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gain insights into EU biodiversity research priorities and policies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Explore European funding instruments, including ERC, EIC Pathfinder, MSCA, COST and Horizon Europe.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learn about upcoming research opportunities under the Horizon Europe 2027 Work Programme.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Present their research interests and identify potential international collaborators.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establish connections with researchers and institutions across cooperation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>European Innovation Council (EIC Pathfinder): opportunities for biodiversity-related research.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Actions (MSCA): funding study visit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Visit to a Belgian research institution specialising in biodiversity, ecosystems and sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The programme is preliminary and may be subject to change.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-85758fd8dc4a87a64f936a4123c0fe4f\"><strong>Who can participate?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The study visit is intended for researchers at the <strong>R2 \/ early R3 career stage<\/strong> who hold a PhD, habilitation or equivalent qualifications and research experience, and are developing or strengthening their independence as researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We particularly encourage applications from researchers working in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Biodiversity and ecology.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nature conservation and biodiversity restoration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ecosystem functioning and restoration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Environmental sciences and sustainable ecosystem management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Related research fields addressing biodiversity challenges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applicants should demonstrate an interest in European research cooperation, international networking and developing future collaborative projects.
