Get involved in the fight against coronavirus, take part in the pan-European #EUvsVirus hackathon!

The European Commission, in close collaboration with the EU member states, will host a pan-European hackathon to connect civil society, innovators, partners and investors across Europe in order to develop innovative solutions for coronavirus-related challenges. The event will be held online on 24-26th April 2020. The registration is open only until 19th April!

The hackathon is mainly devoted to five areas: health and life, business continuity, social and political cohesion, remote working and education, digital finance. In addition, challenges and solutions within other areas may be presented during the event.

How can you participate in the hackathon?

  • As a problem solver (individually or as a team) – various developers, designers, creative minds and all problem solvers with expertise in Health, Business, Social & Political Cohesion, Education, Digital Finance (as well as other areas) are welcomed to take part in the event.
  • As a mentor/ team coordinator – different experts in the areas of Health, Business, Social & Political Cohesion, Education, Digital Finance, who support the problem solvers with their inside view and experience, are sought. Besides, team coordinators ,who organise and coordinate the teams during the hackathon, are needed.
  • As a partner – all actors who want to make their unique contribution to the hackathon like companies, universities, research institutes, public and private organisations, and networks are invited to attend the hackathon.

All 27 EU Member States as well as Norway, Israel, Switzerland, Ukraine and countries associated with Horizon 2020 can participate in the EUvsVirus hackathon. Winning solutions will be invited to enter the platform of the European Innovation Council, which connects with end-users (e.g. hospitals) and will facilitate access to investors, foundations and other funding options from the European Commission.
