Networking and Brokerage Event H2020 – Transport
On 7 October, 2019, the Transport Info Day – within H2020 – will be held in Brussels. This networking and brokerage event is focused on the topics covered by the Transport Work Programme 2019-2020. This event will present upcoming funding opportunities of approximately €356 million under the Mobility for Growth (MG), Automated Road Transport (ART), Green Vehicles (GV), and Next Generation Batteries (BAT) calls. It will also give an overview of the application and evaluation process, and present tips for writing a good proposal.
In the afternoon, in the same place, a brokerage session will take place, which will be an excellent opportunity to establish contacts and find partners to form a consortium.

Next meeting from the series ‘Discussion on Horizon in the PolSCA’ – guest: Mrs. Aleksandra Schoetz-Sobczak (Research Executive Agency)
The next meeting for representatives of Polish regional offices from the ‘Discussions on Horizon in the PolSCA’ series will take place on 4th October (Friday) at 9.30 am at PolSCA premises at Rue du Trone 98. This time the guest will be Mrs. Aleksandra Schoetz-Sobczak, Project Officer at the Research Executive Agency (REA) of the European Commission.
The subject of the meeting will be Marie Skłodowska-Curie grants, and more specifically the RISE (Research and Innovation Staff Exchange) program, which aims to exchange employees dealing with research and innovation in various sectors and from different countries. You will be able to find out what is the RISE program, what are the application criteria and what does the participation of Polish entities in the program look like. During the meeting, the next calls will be presented, as well as examples of projects with Polish participants.

V4 Breakfast
On 2nd October 2019, at 9.30 V4 Breakfast – a working meeting of representatives of liaison offices in the field of research and innovation from Visegrad Group (V4) – will be held at the Polish Science Contact Agency’s premises. Apart from PolSCA team, representatives of SLORD, CZELO and the Permanent Representation of Hungary to the EU in Brussels are participating in the meeting. In addition, our guest will be Mrs. Ewa Kocińska-Lange from Science & Business Poland.
National Reading 2019 in Brussels
Polish institutions in Brussels were invited to participate in the National Reading campaign – Polish Novellas, organized by the Polish School – Daskalia and the Polish Library in Leuven.
To read, novels chosen by the Presidential Couple, from Romanticism to the interwar period, representatives of science, diplomacy and European institutions were invited. Among them were: Dr. Ewa Synowiec, Director of Trade at the European Commission; HE Artur Orzechowski, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the Kingdom of Belgium; dr Alicja Gęścińska, philosopher, writer; Monika Pruska, director of Polish School in Antwerp; prof. Jan Dierick, coordinator of the Polish section of the University of KU Leuven; prof. dr Kris van Heuckelom, Polish philologist at the University of KU Leuven; Agnieszka Walter-Drop, director general in the European Parliament and prof. Małgorzata Molęda-Zdziech, director of the Polish Science Contact Agency PolSCA, who read “The Plowing” of Władysław Reymont.
European Research and Innovation Days
On 24-26th September 2019 the first European Research and Innovation Days, organized by the European Commission, will take place in Brussels (Kanal Center Pompidou). The purpose of the event, which is to bring together over 3,000 participants, including scientists, representatives of research and non-governmental organizations, is to discuss the shape of the next EU framework program for research and innovation ‘Horizon Europe’.
The event is divided into three parts: Policy Conference, Innovative Europe Hub and the exhibition ‘Science is Wonderful’. The European Research and Innovation Days will be also a great chance to take part in meetings with representatives of the European Commission, which are organized within Horizon Village.

PolSCA actively participates in the Second World Forum of Polish Science Beyond the Borders, Pułtusk 2019
On 11-14th September 2019, the director of the Polish Science Contact Agency in Brussels, prof. Małgorzata Molęda-Zdziech with dr habil. Monika Kwoka, from the Academy of Young Scholars of the Polish Academy of Sciences, participated in the Second World Forum of Polish Science Beyond the Borders, organized by the Association “Polish Community”, headed by Mr. Dariusz Piotr Bonisławski, president of the Association “Polish Community”. in cooperation with the Polish Polonia Council and the Senate of the Republic of Poland.

On 9-10th September 2019 The Regional and Economic Diplomacy Summit, organized by the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology, took place in Warsaw. This international event was accompanied by many thematic conferences, including the seminar ‘Francophone dialogue and integration. Potential of developing multifaceted cooperation’.
Polish Science Contact Agency was represented in Warsaw by Adam Knapik, PhD, who had the pleasure to lead a discussion on the possibilities of cooperation within the French-speaking community in the world and to summarize the all-day event in his speech entitled ‘Economics, science and innovation – important Francophone synergies’.

The Commission is preparing the implementation of Horizon Europe, the next and most ambitious EU research and innovation programme (2021-2027) with a proposed budget of €100 billion, in an intensive co-design process. It will help shape European research and innovation investments in the coming years. As part of the process, the Commission has launched an online consultation.
Have your say on future objectives for EU-funded research and innovation, mainly the first draft of the so-called Strategic Plan. ICT Proposers’ Day 2019 will take place on 19-20 September 2019 in Helsinki, Finland. The event will provide an excellent opportunity to present and discuss the main policy drivers of the digital transformation of European industry and society. It will also present how the EU research & innovation agenda can best contribute to these objectives. The event will also present the Horizon 2020 Work Programme, and serve as a unique networking platform for ICT enthusiasts and professionals.
ICT Proposers’ Day 2019 will focus on the upcoming calls of the Horizon 2020 Work Programme in the field of Information & Communication Technologies, Future and Emerging Technologies (FET), and Societal Challenges. The event will offer an exceptional opportunity to build quality partnerships with academics, researchers, industrial stakeholders, SMEs and government actors from all over Europe.
The programme:
- Networking and Information sessions will include an introduction of upcoming Horizon 2020 calls by Commission officials, and presentations of projects ideas by potential proposers.
- Information sessions are designed to present the main features of the work programme and to assist participants on how to prepare and submit a proposal to answer a Horizon 2020 call.
- Commission officials will be at your disposal to reply to your questions on ICT-related topics of the 2018-20 work programme and the content of the next calls for proposals. Opening of the first Dioscuri Centres in Poland (Warsaw)
On 17th September 2019, the opening ceremony of the first Polish Dioscuri Centres will be held at the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology in Warsaw.
Dioscuri Programme was devised by the Max Planck Society to support the development of scientific excellence in Central and Eastern Europe by promoting outstanding scientists who want to establish their research group in the form of a Dioscuri Centre. The Programme strives to institute future-oriented research fields and international standards of scientific quality throughout the region, thereby strengthening the European Research Area as a whole.
The Dioscuri Programme is first implemented in Poland, where it is jointly managed by the Max Planck Society (MPG) and the Polish National Science Centre (NCN), and funded equally by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW).
