Mobility, mobility, mobility! The POLS call

News

Less than a month ago we posted on PolSCA website the information about The Ulam Programme and the Polish Returns programme enabling scientific visits in Poland. This time we would like to present another instrument to support the mobility of researchers – the POLS call, financed from Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and operated by the National Science Centre. It is addressed to scientists from around the world and from all fields of science who wish to carry out their research in Poland. Hosting both recognized and promising scientists is an excellent opportunity to increase the scientific potential of research organisations in Poland.

Who is eligible to apply?

The eligible Applicant is a research organisation or company and each application must be signed by an authorized person from the institution. The host institution has to employ the Principal Investigator (PI) under a full employment contract and provide him/her with a high-quality research environment to implement the project for its entire duration. The PI should be a researcher holding a PhD degree and must not have resided or carried out his or her main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Poland for at least 24 months prior to the call deadline. Proposals shall be submitted electronically in English via the online system ZSUN/OSF. Only the Project Promoter is authorised to submit a proposal. The deadline for applications is 16th June 2020. The application form is available on the National Science Centre website.

What is the duration of the project and what costs can be covered under the grant?

In general, the duration of the project is either 12 months or 24 months. However, in justified cases, it is possible to extend the project implementation period – without additional funds – up to 12 months. Expenditures incurred after 30th April 2024 shall not be eligible. Within the grant, both direct expenditures and indirect costs can be covered such as cost of staff assigned to the project, cost of equipment, travel and subsistence allowances, cost of consumables and supplies, and other expenditures related to the implementation of the project. The maximum amount of grant assistance applied for is 200,000 euro (including overhead costs).
