PolSCA webinar series on Horizon Europe :: Cluster 6 “Food, bioeconomy, natural resources, agriculture and environment”

The Polish Science Contact Agency (PolSCA) of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Brussels is hosting a next meeting within “Webinar series on Horizon Europe”. The main purpose of this particular webinar will be to present cluster 6: “Food, bioeconomy, natural resources, agriculture and environment” of Horizon Europe. The current research and innovation funding opportunities in this part of the framework program are set out in the Work Program for 2021-2022.

Thanks to our special guests: representatives of the European Commission, Mission Boards and National Contact Point (NCBR/KPK), the meeting attendees will strengthen their knowledge about priorities, specific objectives and expected impact of the cluster 6 as well as about the funding opportunities within 7 destinations of the cluster for 2022. Moreover, the participants will be given detailed insight into the evaluation novelties under cluster 6 with a special attention to Do Not Significant Harm criterion. This will be followed by testimonials of the Polish researchers sharing their experiences gained from the Horizon 2020 funded grants. Eventually, Mission Boards members will present closely related to cluster 6: Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters and EU Mission Soil deal for Europe.

The event is open only to academics and research managers of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The webinar will take place online on November 30, 2021 (Tuesday) from 9.30 – 13.00.

Gender equality plans. The Polish Science Contact Agency PolSCA Guide

Scientific institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS) are introducing gender equality plans (GEPs). Departments entrusted with the preparation of these documents will find help in the guidebook prepared by the Polish Science Contact Agency PolSCA of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Brussels. Implementing gender equality plans in research institution will soon be mandatory for applicants in competitions of the Horizon Europe, including MSCA and ERC.

European Biodiversity Partnership. New funds for research

On October 5, 2021, a webinar entitled European Biodiversity Partnership. New funds for research was hosted by the Polish Science Contact Agency of the PAS (PolSCA) in Brussels and the National Science Centre, Poland. The webinar took place a few days after the official establishment of the European co-funded Partnership on Biodiversity under Horizon Europe, which as the successor of the BiodivERsA network took over the name of Biodiversa +.

Webinar on the European Mission “Caring for soils is caring for life” already behind us!

On Thursday, September 23, 2021, another discussion meeting on European Missions in the Horizon Europe framework program took place as part of a joint initiative of the PolSCA PAN Office in Brussels and the Business Science Poland, the representative office of the National Center for Research and Development in Brussels. This time the meeting focused on the Mission Soil Health and Food.

Webinar: European Partnership on Biodiversity. New funds for research

The National Science Centre, Poland and the Polish Science Contact Agency of the PAS (PolSCA) in Brussels are pleased to invite you to an information session on the first international call for proposals of the European co-funded Partnership on Biodiversity under Horizon Europe. The Partnership will officially start operating in the beginning of October 2021 as the successor to the BiodivERsA network.

Another success of Polish researchers: muscle-derived exophers support the reproductive condition

Scientists from the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology with colleagues from the International Institute of Molecular Mechanisms and Machines (IMol) PAS and the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics PAS, have discovered that worm muscle cells can produce exophers – vesicles that remove damaged proteins from the outside of the cell.

Launch of the “Research in Poland” platform

In July, the National Agency for Academic Exchange launched an English-language informational and promotional website aimed at foreign scientists and doctoral students under the name “Research in Poland”.
