News

More than 110 participants and 22 presenters from all over the Europe and beyond joined the Matchmaking event on cluster 6 of Horizon Europe on 29th of June!! The event was a follow-up activity of the #V4Conference2022 on “Benefits and challenges of participation in co-funded partnerships with a thematic focus on Cluster 6: Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment”,that took place two weeks earlier. Both the conference and the brokerage were organised by Brussels-based V4 liaison offices.

The event brought attention of participants representing various academic and non-academic institutions as well as start-ups and companies operating in the field of biodiversity, clean and protected environment, and circular economy (see the Figure no 1 for details) not only across  Visegrad countries, but from all over Europe and beyond!

The matchmaking event served them as an opportunity for networking, mobilising and reinforcing cooperation in the following areas of cluster 6 of Horizon Europe:

  1. Biodiversity and ecosystem services and related Biodiversa+ Partnership,
  2. Circular economy and bioeconomy sectors and related Circular Bio-Based Europe JU,
  3. Clean environment and zero pollution,
  4. Land, ocean and water for climate action and related Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership (SBEP) and Water4All Partnership.

The Figure no. 2 shows which of those four thematic scopes were indicated by the registered participants as their 1st areas of interests.

Attendees were provided with a brief overview of upcoming funding opportunities under Cluster 6 of Horizon Europe, and a few related European partnerships, with a special focus on pre-announced 2nd Call of the Biodiversa+ European Partnership, which will be launched on 8th of September 2022. They were invited to register on Biodiversa+ Partner Search as well as to join the information webinar on its upcoming call on 20th September.

Participants learnt also about the activities of the EuropaBON network as well as the benefits waiting for everyone who wish to become its member!

22 pitch presentations were delivered by individuals coming from a good variety of European R&I institutions as shown in Figure no. 1. Speakers were coming from countries such as Czech Republic, Hungary, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. Two pitching sessions were followed by speed dating activity via Wonder.me platform which enabled direct interaction between everyone interested in future collaboration.

We keep fingers crossed for any post-meeting contacts, and wish everyone all the best for future collaboration!
